We are All For One! Online and, from May 11th on, we will also be Bridge and Games.
FACE-TO-FACE BRIDGE, MAH JONGG, and CANASTA:
Bridge and Games will be at 87th Street and 3rd Avenue. It will be our face to face, in person club for bridge, Canasta, Mah Jongg, Scrabble, Backgammon, chess, and Euro-style board games. Basically, if it’s a game, you name it, we’ll try to provide it.
We will begin with a two-day-a-week bridge schedule, starting the week of May 10th, and will add a day of Mah Jongg and Canasta the following week.
Grand opening:
Tuesday May 11th and every subsequent Tuesday:
There will be two 18-board games that day. The first will start at 11:00 am and end just after 1:00 pm. It will be limited to players with under 1,000 Masterpoints. The second game will begin at 2:15 pm and end at 4:20 pm. It will be an Open Game, meaning everyone will be invited regardless of the number of Masterpoints they possess.
Opening weeks playing conditions: No food will be served, the tables will be spaced at between 10 1/2 and 11 feet from center to center, as per ACBL national guidelines. That means no more than 13 tables (50% capacity) will be seated at one time. All of our many windows will be open and our three ceiling fans will be on. In addition, we just purchased three state-of-the-art powerful Hepa filters to aid in sterilizing and circulating the air up to four times an hour. Masks will be required as will proof of vaccination.
Thursday May 13th and every subsequent Thursday:
The bridge schedule will be flipped. The 0 – 1000 game will be at 2:15 pm. The Open Game will begin at 11:00 am.
Canasta and Mah Jongg start the following Wednesday, May 19th, and will be every subsequent Wednesday. The session will start at 1:00 pm and end as late as 4:00 pm. The same conditions that apply to bridge (above) will apply here.
The table fees will be $18 for all three types of games.
Reservations can only be made by email and only through Betsy and Fran. For the time being, these reservations will be on a first-come, first served basis. Betsy will be taking Thursdays’ reservations. Fran will be taking Tuesdays’ and Wednesdays’.
